Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
rose to fame for his role as a character on 'Saturday Night Live,' before
appearing on such major-screen comedy films as 'Elf"Anchorman,"
"Talladega Nights.' Will Ferrell was born in Irvine, California in 1967.
He began his comedy career as an actor in the Los Angeles-based improv group
called the Groundlings. Following his seven years as a Saturday Night Live Cast
Member, Ferrell became one of the most well-known comedic actors of the field
through off-color hits such as Old School (2003) or Anchorman: The Legend of
Ron Burgundy (2004). Ferrell was a co-founder of Funny or Die, a popular video
streaming website. He also enjoyed success as an actor voiceover in animated
movies such as Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell was conceived in Irvine,
California on July 16th 1967. Will Ferrell was the eldest son of Righteous
Brothers keyboardist Lee Ferrell as well as instructor Kay Ferrell. He was
himself, as he admitted was not exactly the class clown while he was a
University High School student. The quiet and studious Ferrell determined to
leave his mark on the football pitch and set records for school records for the
number of field goals he scored. Ferrell was more of a relaxed person in homes
with a suburban feel and didn't have the same outrageous or funny exasperations
later on that defined his career. "Very even-tempered, and very
relaxed," his mother recalled in an interview with Esquire. "You
aren't you old enough to remember those Matchbox automobiles?" Will would
line up his Matchbox cars, by himself and be extremely happy. You'd say, 'You
wanna visit Disneyland today, or arrange your cars?' This would be a tough
conversation for him to consider. "That's not to say that Ferrell was a
total straight-laced man. As he delivered his daily announcements through the
PA system, a glimpse into his comedy skills was revealed each morning at
high-school. Ferrell graduated from the University of Southern California, Los
Angeles in 1986. He joined Delta Tau fraternity, and was pursuing a degree in
sports journalism.
