Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, an actor and musician, is known for playing hard-edged characters or humorous characters in action films. He has been in over $2.5 billion dollars worth of films. Walter Bruce Willis was born on the 19th of March 1955 in Idar-Oberstein in West Germany, to a German mother, Marlene Kassel, and an American father, David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point, New Jersey) They were living at the United States military base. His family moved to U.S. shortly after he was born. He was raised in Penns Grove, New Jersey where his mother worked at a bank and his father worked as a welder as well as a factory worker. Willis began to take an interest in the drama arts at high school. He was "discovered" during his time working at a New York City cafe. Later, he appeared on several off-Broadway productions. In one night, Willis was bartending and was noticed by a casting agent who liked his style of work. He was in need of an bartender for the role of a minor character in a film. Willis tried out for a variety of roles in films, however, he was not given credit. He finally got the part of David Addison, a private eye, alongside Cybill Shepherd in the romantic comedy show Moonlighting (1985). His sarcastic and wisecracking P.I. Many view it as an opportunity to practice to test Willis as McClane in Die Hard (1988), in which he was the sole defender of an international gang of thieves at a Los Angeles skyscraper. In the sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990) Willis reprised his character as McClane. The story was set in Washington's Dulles International Airport where a group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers are trying to bring back an unjust South American general. A sequel, Die Hard with Avengeance (1995), was a smash success. It featured Samuel L. Jackson as a cynical Harlem shopkeeper who is forced to assist McClane during a terrorist attack that occurred in the midst of a scorching New York day.
